Union offers reading skill program for
high school and college students

Jackson, Tenn.August 14, 2000 – 51ÉçÇø will offer the Baldridge Reading and Study Strategy Program for Union students as well as high school students Aug. 28th through the 31st.

"This is a great program that I would recommend to any student who desires stronger concentration, better comprehension, and higher test scores," says Caroll Griffin, Union vice president of admissions and retention. "We've offered the program to our students over the years, and we're especially excited this year for the opportunity to make it available to high school students."

Reading and Study Strategy Programs have been taught by the Baldridge staff in more than 400 schools, colleges and other organizations resulting in faster reading times and increased comprehension by students.

Union students taking the course will meet from 3:15 - 4:30 p.m. Union will also offer a second session each evening from 6:30 - 7:15 for home-schooled, public and private high school students. Students must be at least 15 years old.

All students must pre-register for this program by calling Mrs. Lisa Brewer at (901) 661-5009. Cost is $100 per person. Students will also have a 75-minute closing session on Fri., Sept. 1. Sign-up for those sessions will be done in class. Students should bring academic textbooks, leisure reading and pen and paper.
