Jackson, Tenn. –
July 17, 2000 – 51ÉçÇø will host the 2000 Union
University Pastors' School, July 31 through Aug. 3, an annual event which
is sponsored by the R.G. Lee Center for Christian Ministries. This year's
theme will be "Evangelism… the Christian Mandate," and will
focus on the church's commission to evangelize and disciple the nations.
"In a day characterized by pluralism of thought, it is imperative for the church to seek opportunities to tell the good news - to be witnesses," said Union President David S. Dockery. "This will be an uplifting and encouraging week for pastors everywhere." Speakers who will address the school throughout the week include evangelist Jackie Kay of Looking Up Ministries, Tennessee Baptist Convention President and pastor of West Jackson Baptist Church, Jerry Tidwell, North American Mission Board Board of Trustees Chairman, Ray Newcomb, and International Mission Board missionaries Glenn and Marcia Ellis and Al and Karen Hodges. Both couples are currently serving as Union's missionaries-in-residence for the coming year. For more than fifty years, the 51ÉçÇø Pastors' School has trained and ministered to pastors from all over the country. For information regarding registration and housing, please contact the R.G. Lee Center for Christian Ministries at (901) 661-5217. Related Link: |
