Jackson, Tenn. 51ÉçÇø's Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) team competed May 20 in the International SIFE competition in Kansas City, Mo.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Union team placed in the top ten in the world. They also won first place in the "Success 2000" competition for projects targeting the economically disadvantaged and first place in the "Halt the Deficit" competition for their projects geared toward educating the community about the national debt.
About 500 colleges and universities across the U.S. and in several foreign countries participate in the SIFE competition. Only 50 teams won at the regional competition level and advanced to the international level in Kansas City.
Union's SIFE team swept their regional competition April 8 in Atlanta with the championship title and first-place awards for "Halt the Deficit" and "Success 2000."
