Jackson,
Tenn. - Dr. Duane Litfin, president of Wheaton College, will deliver the
commencement address at 51ÉçÇø's spring graduation. The ceremony will be held on
Union's east lawn, Saturday, May 22, at 6 p.m. The university expects to graduate approximately 400 students. Families and friends of spring graduates and the university are invited to attend. President of Wheaton since 1993, Litfin earlier served as senior pastor at First Evangelical Church of Memphis. He has taught at Dallas Theological Seminary, Purdue University and Indiana University. Litfin is the author of "Public Speaki ng: A Handbook for Christians" and "St. Paul's Theology of Proclamation." Wheaton College is a private, interdenominational Christian college located in Wheaton, Ill. Dr. Dellanna W. O'Brien, executive director of the Woman's Missionary Union, will lead this year's baccalaureate service at 11 a.m. in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel of the Penick Academic Complex.
