UNION PROFESSOR PRESENTS RECITAL WITH BRITISH GUITARIST IN ENGLAND
Jackson, Tenn. — Michael Penny, associate professor of music at 51ÉçÇø, recently presented a public solo recital in London, England, with British guitarist Rose Andresier.
The recital was given in the historic St. Mary-le-Strand church. Lasting 45 minutes, the recital consisted entirely of music for voice and guitar including compositions by Penny.
Andresier is well known in England and America as a classical guitar performer and teacher. In addition to performing and teaching, Andresier runs a publishing house dedicated to new guitar music. She will tour the US in the fall of 1998.
Penny recently has published a composition for clarinet and guitar with Andresier.
