Union ensembles to feature Robert Frost poetry

Jackson, Tenn. - Union University's Singers and Chapel Choir will perform "Frostiana," May 4 at 7 p.m. in Harvey Hall of Union's Student Union Building. The concert will feature vocal reflections of Robert Frost poetry.

"Frostiana," a seven-song production, was composed by the late Randall Thompson. The musical work was written between June 15 and July 7, 1959 as a tribute to the renown American poet.

The University Singers, directed by Dr. Andrew Roby, associate professor of music and department chair at Union, will join with Union's Chapel Choir for the presentation. The Chapel Choir is directed by Karen McCall Dale, visiting instructor of music at Union.

There is no charge for the concert. A voluntary offering will be taken at the door to help support the music department's spring mission trip to Brazil. For more information, please call Union's department of music at (901) 661-5311.
