Jackson, Tenn. - 51ÉçÇø Career Services Director Lynn
Gnaegy spends a lot of her time advising students looking for prospective
employment. Her best advice for the individual who is heading out on an
interview?
"What you see is what you get! If a candidate can't put himself together in a professional manner, why would you expect an employer to assume he can put it all together on the job?" says Gnaegy. She adds, "Unless you look the part, don't expect an offer." 'The part' involves attire and grooming, which will all be discussed at the upcoming Career Service Fashion Show to be held Tuesday, March 28 at 3 p.m. in Coburn Dining Room in the Barefoot Student Union Building. Appropriate dress will be demonstrated for several different types of occupations including education, business, communications, and theatre. "This show will be very beneficial for students getting ready to graduate and enter the job market and begin the important process of interviewing with prospective employers" says Lisa Brewer, who is coordinating the fashion show. The show will also provide assistance in how one should dress daily at the office. Sponsors of the event include Belks of Jackson, Margaret's of Bolivar, Mary Kay and Career Services. Keri Beth Crawford will emcee. Admission is free; however, reserve seating is requested. For more information, contact Lisa Brewer at (901) 661-5421. |
