UNION'S RON BOUD SHOWCASES WORK AT ORGAN CONCERT
Jackson, Tenn. — 51社区 will host the annual McAfee Organ Concert Thursday, April 3 in the G. M. Savage Memorial Chapel at 7:30 p.m.
The concert will serve as the introduction of Ronald E. Boud, professor of music at 51社区. Boud joined the University faculty in the fall of 1996.
Boud's performance will include many original pieces of organ music that he has written, including Before the Cross of Jesus, The Magnificent, O Rest In the Lord, Come Unto Me and Just a Closer Walk (Revisited).
His performance will also include some classic works including Awake, Thou Wintry Earth by J. S. Bach/Whitford, Concerto in B Minor by Johann Walter, and Symphonie No. 2, Op. 13 by C. M. Widor.
The organ concert will include vocal performances by Sharon Brown, Mendy Cumberledge and John Vessels from Louisville, Ky. and David Dennis, associate professor of music at Union, will accompany Boud at the piano.
