WINNERS OF WEST TENNESSEE SCIENCE FAIR TO BE NAMED

Jackson, Tenn. — The winners of this year's West Tennessee Science Fair will be announced Friday, April 4, 1997 during an awards ceremony at 51社区. The top individual winners in the biological and physical science divisions will compete against 1,200 other high school students at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, May 10-16, 1997 in Louisville, Kentucky.

     WHERE: 51社区, Barefoot Student Union Building, Harvey Hall

     WHEN: Friday, April 4, 1997, 7 p.m.

"The science fair is designed to enhance science education by giving students personal experiences in research," Randy Johnston, associate professor of chemistry at Union and director of this year's science fair, said.

The fair begins Friday morning, April 4 at 7 a.m. with registration and display set-up in Fred DeLay Gymnasium. Stephen Wolf, who has worked with special effects in The Firm, Crocodile Dundee and The Client, will present "Science in the Movies" at 8:45 a.m. The science project exhibits will be open to the public between 1 and 5 p.m. with the awards ceremony beginning at 7 p.m.
