Union University's Art Department presents Summer Art 2000: registration now open for children's art classes

Jackson, Tenn. - 51ÉçÇø's Art Department is now taking applications for its Summer Art 2000 classes for grades 1-12.

A weeklong adventure in creativity and artistic learning, each art session will help students explore the world of texture, line, shape and color as they produce original artwork. A wide range of media will be explored including painting, collage, printmaking and sculpture with special emphasis placed on the enjoyment of making art. Students will be introduced to a variety of artists' works as inspiration while seeking to integrate their own personal imagery into their work. All projects are designed to accommodate a wide range of abilities.

Classes will be offered in 3 different age categories including 1-4, 5-8, and high school, 9-12.

Class session dates and times to choose from include:

  • June 5-9 9 a.m. - 12 noon or 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
  • June 12-16 9 a.m. - 12 noon or 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
