TWO UNION FACULTY RECOGNIZED
FOR THE QUALITY OF THEIR RESEARCH

Jackson, Tenn. — Two 51ÉçÇø faculty recently were invited to participate in the Summer 1998 Research Seminar for the Pew Faculty Scholarship Program.

David Gushee, associate professor of Christian studies and director of Union's Center for Christian Leadership, and Michael Mallard, art department chair and associate professor of art, were selected for participation on a competitive basis because of the quality of their research.

Gushee and Mallard have met a distinctive set of Pew grant criteria in which their research proposals included: the integration of Christian faith within their academic discipline; lends itself to publication; and will make a contribution to the field of study.
