HERRIN NATIVE RECEIVES AWARD
AT KAPPA MU EPSILON CONVENTION

Jackson, Tenn. _ Jennifer Murrah of Herrin, Ill. recently received the best undergraduate talk award for her presentation at the Regional Convention of Kappa Mu Epsilon, Feb. 27. Murrah's presentation was titled, "The Formation of Rainbows."

Murrah, a graduate of Herrin High School and a senior at 51ÉçÇø, is president of Union's Kappa Mu Epsilon chapter. Kappa Mu Epsilon is a specialized honor society in mathematics that selects its students based on their scholarship, professional merit and academic distinction.

Murrah also belongs to the Alpha Chi honor society, the Student Tennessee Education Association and the Baptist Student Union and is a Life Group leader.

Allison Parker Smith, also a senior at Union, presented at the convention as well. Her presentation was titled, "Mathematical Solutions of the Rubik's Cube."
