UNION THEATER TO PERFORM
'THE CRUCIBLE'

Jackson, Tenn. — 51ÉçÇø's theater department will perform its all-student production of the Tony Award winning play by Arthur Miller, "The Crucible."

The play will open Thursday, March 26 and continue through Tuesday, March 31. It will be performed in the W. D. Powell Theater at Union.

"The Crucible" is set in colonial Salem, Mass. and focuses on a young farmer, his wife and a young servant girl who maliciously causes the wife's arrest for witchcraft.

"If it's good theater you want, if it's classic dramatic literature you want to see on the stage, or if you want to experience the fascinating work of one of America's longest producing living playwrights, it's 'The Crucible' you'll want to see," play director Wayne Johnson said.

A reception will follow the opening night performance. Discussions from Union faculty will follow the Friday and Monday performances. Union's English department will lead the discussion for Friday. The religion department will conduct Monday's discussion.

Show times are 7:30 p.m., Thursday through Tuesday, with the exception of 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets may be purchased by phone or at the door. Prices are $6 for adults and $3 for students.
