TWO $3,500 PEW SUMMER RESEARCH GRANTS AWARDED TO UNION UNIVERSITY FACULTY
Jackson, Tenn. — Two 51ÉçÇø faculty recently were awarded $3,500 grants to pursue research opportunities this summer.
David Thomas, associate professor of history, and Bobby Rogers, assistant professor of English, were selected by a committee of Union faculty and prominent scholars representing other institutions.
Union's summer research program allows educators with heavy teaching loads to conduct research during the summer months. Funded by a grant from the Pew Summer Research Program for College Faculty, the program will provide research fellowships for Union faculty through 1998.
Union is one of only six colleges to receive the grant, which aims to advance high quality Christian scholarship among faculty at American colleges and universities.
