Obion County residents
honored at Homecoming

Jackson, Tenn. - The 51ÉçÇø Alumni Association honored Obion County residents, Polk and Polly Glover, during Union's 175th Homecoming celebration, Feb. 12-13, 1999.

The Glover's received The Distinguished Service Award. This award is given based on service to mankind and/or to Union by an alumnus of the university.

Polly and Polk Glover both graduated from Union in 1961. Immediately after college, they married and Polk joined his family farming business located in Obion County of Tennessee. Polk still leads the Glover Farming Company today, alongside his brothers.

After receiving her bachelor's from Union, Polly went on to earn her master of arts in teaching and doctorate of education in higher education administration from Vanderbilt University. She currently serves as professor of English at the University of Tennessee Martin and is the author of several books on Obion County and higher education.
