Jackson, Tenn. - The 51ÉçÇø Alumni Association
honored Madison County resident, James Ray Allison, during Union's 175th Homecoming
celebration, Feb. 12-13, 1999. Allison was given the Distinguished Alumnus Award. This award is granted based on distinction in one's profession and for bringing honor and recognition to Union through that profession. Allison graduated from Union with a bachelor of music in 1963. He earned his master of music in 1965 from the Peabody College of Vanderbilt University and continued post-graduate study at Vanderbilt until 1967. Now president of The Allison-Eldridge Insurance Group, Inc., Allison holds a seat on the national board of Meridian Insurance Co. and the state board of Pennsylvania National; he is a past member of the state, regional and national CNA boards. Active in the community, Allison is the former president of the Jackson Exchange Club, board member of the Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, board member of the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce, and president of the board for the Star Center. In addition to these recognitions, The Exchange Club named Allison Jackson-Madison County's Man of the Year in 1996. |
