UNION SPONSORS OPEN FORUM ON CHRISTIAN SCRIPTURE

Jackson, Tenn. — 51ÉçÇø's Department of Christian Studies will sponsor an open forum – Christian scripture through the ages: Inspiration, authority and interpretation – Thursday March 13.

The colloquium, which will be held from 3 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. in Harvey Lecture Hall of the Student Union Building, will include the presentation and discussion of three papers by leading Christian scholars – Union's George H. Guthrie, President David S. Dockery, and David P. Gushee.

Guthrie, department chair and associate professor of Christian studies, will discuss his paper titled "The use of scripture in earliest Christianity."

Dockery will address "An evangelical perspective on inspiration, authority and interpretation of scripture."

Gushee, Christian ethicist and associate professor of Christian studies, will present and discuss "Scripture and ethics: Contemporary approches."

The public is invited to attend and participate.
