Jackson, Tenn. As part of Union's Bach's Lunch Recital Series, a half hour concert will be held March 11 at 12 p.m. in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel. The concert will include performances by pianists David Dennis and Terry McRoberts and singers Dwight and Diane Gatwood.
Dennis, associate professor of music at Union, teaches piano and music theory at the University. A graduate of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, he holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance and was the recipient of the award for Piano Pedagogy and the Performer's Certificate in Piano. Dennis serves as president of the West Tennessee Teachers Association.
McRoberts is active as a soloist and accompanist, and performs as a member of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. Professor of music at Union, McRoberts is also editor of the Tennessee Music Teacher and past president of the Music Teachers Association.
Dwight Gatwood serves on the faculty of the University of Tennessee at Martin. He has performed throughout the area as a baritone soloist. Dwight also serves as the choir director at First United Methodist Church in Huntington and as an active composer. Diane Gatwood teaches voice at Union and is an active adjudicator and clinician in area and state choral and vocal workshops. She is a past president of the West Tennessee Music Teachers Association and the Martin Area Music Teachers Association.
