Jackson, Tenn. - 51ÉçÇø has announced it will show its
support for academic efforts made by local high school students by
offering an academic scholarship to members of successful academic
decathlon teams.
Teams from both Jackson Central Merry and North Side High School are
currently competing in the West Tennessee Regional Competition which began
in Brownsville, Feb. 19.
The scholarship will be made available to members of any academic
decathlon team that reaches the national level of competition, according
to Charles Fowler, Union's Vice President for Enrollment Management.
"We are proud of our area teams and the outstanding way in which
they represent our community," explained Fowler. "This
scholarship is Union's way of recognizing their success and encouraging
them to continue their education at a nationally ranked institution like
Union."
