Jackson, Tenn. 51ÉçÇø's annual Bach's Lunch Recital series continues Wednesday, March 5, at noon in the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel.
The half-hour program of chamber music features organist Ron Boud, professor of music, and pianist Terry McRoberts, associate professor of music. They will present a program featuring the music of J.S. Bach, Johann Walther, and Johannes Brahms.
The program will include O mensch, Bewein' dein' Sunder Gross (Bach), Concerto in B Minor (Walther) and Two Rhapsodies, Op. 79 (Brahms).
Boud is a retired professor of church music from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. His studies have been in New York, Chicago, Baltimore, Atlanta, and Vienna, Austria.
McRoberts, a native of Ohio, holds degrees from Ball State University, Youngstown State University and Manchester College. He is active as a soloist and accompanist, and performs as a member of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. An active adjudicator and lecturer, he is the foremost authority on the life and music of Heinrich Pfitzner.
The series continues each Wednesday through March 19, with all programs scheduled for noon on Union's campus. Fifteen minutes prior to each recital, an opportunity will be provided to meet the artist as the selected pieces of music are discussed.
