Jackson, Tenn. - Gary Grisham, a 1975 graduate of 51ÉçÇø
and current National Alumni Association president, announced at a luncheon
honoring alumni during Homecoming the establishment of two new alumni
awards which will be awarded at next year's Homecoming.
The National Alumni Association Reunion Giving Award for Highest Dollar Contribution will be given to the reunion class who contributes the most gifts and donations in that year's time. The National Alumni Association Reunion Giving Award for Highest Percentage of Class Participation will be given to the reunion class with the most members actively participating in financially supporting the university for that year. Gary Williams, Director of Alumni Services at Union, said it is with hope that these awards will "continue to encourage and show Union's appreciation for the support of its alumni." Also announced were the nominations for the new addition of officers for the association. They are J.L. "Pete" Ford, a 1950 graduate from Brentwood; Jackson resident Lonnie Searcy, a 1970 graduate; Frank Christie, a 1986 graduate from Humboldt; Pat Carrington, a 1999 graduate from Jackson; Connie McCarter, a 2000 graduate from Germantown and Steve Maroney, a 1987 graduate of Union and president-elect of the NAA. |
