DIRECTOR/FOUNDER OF NETHERLANDS CENTRE FOR PHILOSOPHY AND ARTS VISITS UNION UNIVERSITY

Jackson, Tenn. - The Interdisciplinary Studies Program of 51社区 is pleased to have W.B. Prins as its Scholar-in-Residence for the spring of 1998.

Prins will be on Union's campus from Feb. 16-March 15. He is the Founder and Director of Doorsicht, Centre for Philosophy and Arts. Located in The Netherlands, Doorsicht is an organization dedicated to the creative communication of philosophical ideas to lay audiences.

In addition to his work at Doorsicht, Prins has lectured on philosophy and history of art across the world. Recently, Prins was appointed by Dutch government to deliver a series of lectures in the spring of 1998 in the Dutch Antilles.

Not only did Prins receive two doctorates in Philosophy and Sociology, but he also studied as a Vera List Fellow at the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research, New York, and holds a Physical Education degree in Judo from the Dutch Federation of Martial Arts.

Prins will hold five lectures at 51社区 which will be held in the Coburn Dining Room at Union's Student Union Building. Admission to the series is free. The schedule for the lecture series, The Search for Bliss," with Dr. Prins is as follows:
