Jackson, Tenn. A recital celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Franz Schubert and the 100th anniversary of the death of Johannes Brahms will be held Thursday, February 13, 1997 at 51ÉçÇø.
Terry McRoberts, associate professor of music, will perform the Piano Pieces, Op. 118 of Brahms and the Sonata in B-Flat Major by Schubert.
The program will be held in D-3 at 8 p.m. and is free to the public.
McRoberts performs frequently as a soloist, accompanist, and as a member of the Jackson Symphony. He is president of the West Tennessee Music Teachers Association, editor of the Tennessee Music Teacher, and on the Membership Committee of the Sonneck Society for American Music. He is the foremost authority on the works of Heinrich Pfitzner.
