Jackson, Tenn. - "Business by the Book," a one-day
seminar for business executives offered by Christian Financial Concepts,
will be held Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 51ÉçÇø in the Barefoot Student
Union Building in Harvey Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Based on international Christian author Larry Burkett's first book, the
seminar will cover a variety of topics including the purpose of business,
employee relationships, integrity and ethics, and application of biblical
principles towards business. Burkett is also founder and CEO of Christian
Financial Concepts (CFC), a non-profit national organization that seeks to
promote the use of biblical principles in business application. This will
be the first seminar that CFC will give in the West Tennessee area.
"Larry Burkett is recognized internationally as probably one of
the foremost authorities on the use of biblical principles in business and
finances," said Kenny Holt, associate professor of economics and
management and the director of Union's Center for Business and Economic
Development. "This seminar is an offshoot of that work and so it's
quite an honor that we get to be the very first ones to host it here in
West Tennessee."
Leading the seminar will be international teacher and businessman Don
DeLozier from Gainesville, Ga. With 30 years of experience as senior vice
president of Georgia Federal Bank, DeLozier has taught the seminar in more
than 75 cities in 5 countries.
"Any business person who is attempting to apply their Christian
walk to their business profession will want to make plans to attend,"
Holt added.
The seminar will include breaks and lunch. Registration fees for the
event are $125 per individual and $175 for married couples. Seating is
