Hill to offer men “BASICS” of discipleship

Jackson, Tenn. - National speaker and Bible teacher Dwight Hill will lead a seminar for men from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12 at 51ÉçÇø. The seminar is titled "The BASICS of Discipleship."

Joining the Navigators ministry in 1963, Hill and his wife served as directors of the Pacific Coast region. The Navigators is a faith-supported organization whose purpose is to "reach, disciple and equip people to know Christ," and serves a variety of areas including collegiate, military and business and professional ministries.

The Hills also served for several years as missionaries in Southeast Asia, specifically the Philippines. For the last decade, Hill has authored "Fax of the Matter," a weekly newsletter to business professionals that challenges and encourages men in their Christian walk.

"Dwight is a widely sought speaker not because he is particularly charismatic," said Steve Strombeck, assistant marketing professor at Union, "but because he is real, honest, practices what he speaks about, and most importantly knows God."

The cost for the one-day non-denominational seminar is $10 per person, and covers breakfast, lunch and a workbook.

The seminar will be held in the Coburn Dining Hall in the Barefoot Student Union Building. For more information regarding the seminar, contact Steve Strombeck at (901) 661-5364.
