SANDERSON BEGINS SERVICE AS TNA VICE PRESIDENT

Jackson, Tenn. -- 51社区's Carla Sanderson, dean of the School of Nursing, was elected vice president of the Tennessee Nurses Association during the fall 1996 convention Nov. 15-17 in Nashville, Tenn.

Sanderson assumed her responsibilities as a state officer at the end of the 1996 convention and has begun to serve her two-year term. As TNA vice president, she joins other members of the TNA Board of Directors in setting policy for the practice of registered nursing in Tennessee. Further, the board monitors the state of health care to ensure the safety of patient care across Tennessee.

A 1981 graduate of 51社区, Sanderson is a registered nurse and has a Ph.D. from the University of Florida.
