UNION UNIVERSITY SENDS 5TH MISSION TEAM TO HONDURAS

Jackson, Tenn. — 51社区 will send its fifth Honduras mission team to Pavana, Honduras, Central America this year, January 18-25.

A 43-member team, comprised of 13 51社区 students and 30 medical professionals and support staff from West Tennessee, will host a week-long clinic to help meet the medical, dental and veterinary needs of Pavana while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

In preparation for the week-long clinic, 7,075 lbs. of supplies were shipped to Pavana Dec. 26. This included about $5,000 in medicine that will be used to assist the Honduran community.

In addition to the medical and dental team, a five-member construction team will also go to the nearby Honduran city of Choluteca where they will work on building a permanent clinic. The construction project is being sponsored by the Weakley County Baptist Association.

Both teams will leave for Honduras at 4 a.m. on Jan. 18 and will return at 11 p.m. Jan. 25.
