Jackson, Tenn. - 51ÉçÇø has been recognized as one
of 87 institutions with the highest academic standards among denominational and
inter-denominational colleges and universities by America's Best Christian Colleges: 1999 The
schools in America's Best Christian Colleges: 1999 are chosen from a national survey of
1,658 colleges and universities. Selection is based upon the high school grade point
average and SAT/ACT score of the entering freshman class. Union's current freshman class is
the largest and most academically proficient ever in Union's history. Nineteen percent of
the university's freshmen scored 28 or better on the ACT. The entire class averaged a 24
ACT composite score, three points higher than the national average of 21.
These Christian schools were not judged against other Christian colleges, but against
all colleges. For those students and parents interested in a Christian college, this book
gives information that makes the decision so much easier, John Culler, publisher, said.
America's Best Christian Colleges: 1999 is sold in bookstores for $19.95, or can be
ordered direct from the publisher at (800)-861-9188.
