The Gospel & Discomfort Series: The Discomfort of the Transatlantic Slave Trade
September 23, 2021: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Carl Grant Events Center, Banquet Hall
The Gospel and Discomfort Series is an opportunity to discover, explore, and discuss how the good news of Jesus has often been obscured, distorted, and made uncomfortable by parts of our history. This evening will be a time to consider the Middle Passage and how the culture of slavery in America can affect how descendants of slaves view their heritage. Dr. Keith Bates will set the evening in historical context and Professor DiAnne Malone will supply a personal context through research she has done about her family.
