Frank Anderson joined 51社区鈥檚 School of Theology and Missions faculty in 2010. Before that time, he served on the faculty of Crichton College (Memphis, TN) as dean of the School of Bible and Theology and as dean of the Chapel. He also has served as president of the Memphis Center for Urban Theological Studies and as president of the Center for Urban Theological Studies in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His primary areas of study are practical theology (with particular emphasis on preaching and urban theology), Church history, and systematic theology.

Frank accepted God鈥檚 call to preach in 1979 and was ordained in 1980. He succeeded his father as senior pastor of True Light Baptist Church (Memphis, Tennessee) in 1992 and retired in 2019. Before his service in the pastorate at True Light, he served as pastor of True Liberty Baptist Church (Memphis, Tennessee) and as a ministry intern at Bellevue Baptist Church (Cordova, Tennessee).

He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society and the Evangelical Homiletics Society. He also currently serves on the board of directors for Olford Ministries International.

Frank is a native Memphian and has been married to Vernetta (McCully) of Jackson, Tennessee since 1982. They are members of First Baptist Church-Jackson where Frank co-leads a life group and Vernetta both sings in the choir and plays flute in the orchestra. In their spare time, they volunteer to help with projects that improve the welfare of the city, visit museums, and enjoy good dinners with great friends.
