April Rowsey
Assistant Professor of Management
Biography
Dr. April Rowsey serves as an Assistant Professor of Management for the McAfee School of Business. After earning her undergraduate business degree from the University of Arkansas, Dr. Rowsey held corporate roles with companies ranging in size from a Fortune 100 to a small, family owned/controlled business. Her passion for business led her to complete her MBA at Baylor University and, later, she received her graduate degree in human resource development at Vanderbilt University. Most recently, she graduated from the University of Dallas in 2021 with a doctorate in Business Administration. A self-proclaimed 鈥渁ccidental academic,鈥 Dr. Rowsey enjoyed the experiences of her corporate roles but discovered a deep passion for, and connection with, higher education when she took on a teaching assistant role for her alma mater in 2014. She enjoys coaching, mentoring, and supporting her students as they prepare to make a difference in their chosen career paths. Dr. Rowsey鈥檚 favorite class to teach is Management Communication because it is such a vital part and strategic enabler of success in any business. In 2021, she accepted the Assistant Professor of Management position here at Union, and her family moved to Tennessee. On a day off Dr. Rowsey would most likely be found exploring around her new home state with her family.
